Granola Bars

Granola Bars

This is my favorite granola bar recipe, because this recipe stays together unlike some other recipes that just crumble and break into pieces. I usually add three types of nuts or seeds.

 3  1/3 cups rolled oats
½  cup honey
½  cup brown sugar
2/3 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 dark chocolate chips
 ½  cup melted butter
1 tsp cinnamon
 ½  cup raw sunflower seeds
½  cup raw pumpkin seeds
 ¼  cup raw sesame seeds
½  cup raisins

·       Line a 15” x 11” cookie sheet with parchment paper.
·       In a large bowl combine all dry ingredients. Then add the honey and butter, mix well.
·      Place the mixture into the prepared cookie sheet and pat down firmly.

Line the edges with foil so it does not burn. Take foil off 10 minutes before there done.
·       Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until lightly brown.
·      Score into 24 bars, then after there cool cut the bars completely.

Also good with: cherry flavored cranberries, ½ cup coconut, almonds, walnuts, etc..

Chicken and Fish Rub

Chicken and Fish Rub
This is a simple but absolutely flavorful blend of spices. The best way to use this recipe is first rub the chicken or fish with the spice rub, then make garlic butter mixed with some olive oil and baste on the chicken or fish. This is very good on the grill!

2 ½ Tb Paprika
2 Tb Garlic Powder
1 Tb Salt
1 Tb Onion powder, optional

Just mix well and store in an airtight container.
